During an open-enrollment meeting, a number of employees started to complain about certain aspects of their health insurance carrier.  We explained what could have gone wrong in specific cases, but the complaints just seemed to keep piling up!  Finally, certain individuals just started bashing the incumbent insurance carrier and claiming that other named insurance companies had strong reputations and NEVER would have such problems.  It was at that point that I had to interject, and let the employee group know that we have received very similar complaints about the very companies that they were heralding as being above their disappointing results.

After the open enrollment meetings, one of our team members mentioned that health insurance carriers are very similar to the mobile technology oligopoly.  People are often disappointed with Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T, or whoever they might be using, and the grass might be much greener on the other side UNTIL you switch services and find out that the new company has its own set of problems!

This is not to say that some companies ARE better than others, but I would say that the mobile technology industry is very similar to health industry and NO COMPANY will fail to disappoint their customers which makes our job as brokers a necessary liasion when it comes to minimizing the damage!
